Prescription coverage

Medicare Part D Prescription Coverage

Part D helps cover outpatient prescription drugs. Coverage is available through standalone drug plans and many Medicare Advantage plans. Each plan has its own formulary and pharmacy network.

Compare your actual prescriptions

A low premium does not always mean the lowest annual cost. Check whether each medication is covered, its tier, restrictions, preferred pharmacies, deductible, and expected copays.

Avoid late-enrollment surprises

A late enrollment penalty may apply if you go without Part D or other creditable drug coverage after becoming eligible. Keep proof of creditable employer or union coverage.
